Modeling and acting training are the most popular reasons for students to come to John Robert Powers, however we don’t forget to help prepare for the even more important journey - LIFE! The "Singing Pro" workshops nurture the gifts and talents of aspiring singers and songwriters and brings them to a level of maturity and competitiveness for the exciting world of music entertainment. Dancing I Our “Modeling Programs” at JRP Santa Barbara are individualized to benefit every student and enhance the student’s overall success. Some of the courses within our “Modeling Programs” are: Fashion and Commercial Print - Students will learn the basics of photography, posing and how to work on sets with photographers. Some highlights include: stance, body control, movement and posing, emotion and expression, auditioning. There is no height requirement. Runway - The basic techniques for runway and fashion shows are taught, including: appearance, turns, wardrobe, properties and social graces. This course will end with a fashion show which is open to the parents. There is a height requirement to participate in this acting course. Image Development - Inner image and outer appearance, as well as behavior in career and social environments are focused on within this course. The JRP Personal Development and Modeling textbook is required to participate. Make-up and make-down, fashion coordination, wardrobe, health and fitness, as well as personal growth are within the outline of this course. The JRP Santa Barbara "Acting Programs" have become our most popular courses. The entertainment industry is open to all types within the acting field, so this program can be taken by students of any age, look or size.
